Delivery Sequence File (DSF2) Processing

What is DSF2®?

• An address accuracy tool that identifies addresses that are deliverable and addresses that are not deliverable.
• Identifies address characteristics that enable marketers to distinguish between residential and business addresses, seasonal addresses, vacant locations and the mail delivery method – curbside delivery, door slot, NDCBU (Neighborhood Delivery and Collection Box Unit) or central delivery.
• Assigns walk sequence numbers and provides the documentation necessary to qualify for additional United States Postal Service® (USPS®) delivery sequence postage discounts.
• A Delivery Point Validation (DPV®) module confirms that an address is correct and is an actual USPS® delivery point. It also identifies if the address is a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency (CMRA).
• All DPV® functionality is included in DSF2®. DPV® identifies if an address is missing secondary data (Apt#) or contains incorrect secondary data
• The DSF2® file retains every USPS® deliverable address in the U.S. (over 167 million records).

How DSF2® processing works

• DSF2® identifies whether a ZIP + 4® coded address is currently in the USPS® file as a known address record.
• DSF2® identifies records from its database that contains vacant, residential, business and seasonal address information.
• Identifies the type of delivery required at the location such as a door-slot  or curb-side mailbox.
• Addresses that do not match are returned with footnotes and identified as possible errors.

DSF2® features

• Provides Carrier Route Number, Carrier Delivery Sequence Number, Delivery Point Barcode (DPBC), Business or Residential indicator, Seasonal Code indicator and Occupied/Vacant Code indicator.
• Reports Include: Footnote and Delivery Type Counts. National Deliverability Index. ANCHOR’s Deliverability Index Score and PS Form 3553 for CASS™ Certification.
